The Zimmermen

 The Zimmermen are quite assuredly Chicago’s fines interpreters of Bob Dylan’s music. Mining quite possibly the best catalogue in American music gives the Zimmermen a galaxy of material pull from. At times they remain true to an official release and at other times create their own take on a classic or a deep cut. The band is made up of some of Chicago’s finest musicians (Pat Brennan on keys, John Carpender on drums, Henry Carpender on trombone, Andon Davis on guitar, Klem Hayes on bass, Chris Neville on keys, Terry white on guitar/harmonica and of course the Zimmerwymen on vocals, Naomi Ashley, Jenny Bienemann, Jodi Walker). A tradition with the Zimmermen has been to invite a guest star to sit in and add their unique take on Dylan’s music. Over the years the guests have included Robbie Fulks, Cathy Richardson, Michael McDermott, Jon Langford, Willie Nile, Terrance Simien, Alejandro Escovedo among many others.
