Kælan Mikla

Kælan Mikla is a post-punk band made up of three musicians, including Laufey Soffía (vocals), Margrét Rósa Dóru-Harrýsdóttir (bass), and Sólveig Matthildur Kristjánsdóttir (synthesizers). The band has earned global recognition in the last year across the goth music scene.

WINGTIPS

WINGTIPS was officially formed in 2014 by Vincent Segretario after informally having used the moniker for a number of previous experimental solo performances. In 2015 they self-released "Ultravision" – a collection of demos recorded at home. The title track from Ultravision, was featured in the TBS television series, "Search Party".  In 2016, the band released their EP titled "GREYAREA. The album is an androgynous sound of transition; an interpolation of darkly shimmering layers of angular guitar and pulsating darkwave. The EP sharpens their anthemic rush with an increasing penchant for melody and an atmosphere equally informed by post-punk as sweeping electronica. The twin pantheons of synthpop and classic VG music are invoked as fleetingly familiar textures singularly assured by Vincent's soaring voice. Greyarea contextualizes new romantic for the post-millenial end times. With this release, Hannah Avalon moves from live member to creative collaborator, contributing to the ethereal come up of “Glass" and the ecstatic lullaby of closer, “Wading." Prior to Wingtips, Segretario and Avalon worked together in projects ranging from anarcho-punk bands to musical theater, and their language has remained fluent across that entire gamut.  In August 2018, a single titled “RELATIVITY,” -- WINGTIPS' fiirst work in close to two years - was released. The track is a soaring anthem stepped in mid to late 80s nostalgia whose keyboard driven production is a cross between John Hughes soundtrack cuts from Thompson Twins or OMD, and guitar work reminiscent of The Cure’s "Disintegration". It’s the culmination of everything they have worked towards so far – a perfect summer dream anthem for all the outsiders, with hooks so compelling they are cinematic in scope.  Recently, WINGTIPS have supported bands such as FRONT 242, ZOLA JESUS, THE TWILIGHT SAD, and many more.
