Mynor

Mynor Pelaez Lüken is an artist and musician with a singular talent. Drawing on inspiration from diverse musical influences including Stevie Wonder, Elvis, Axl Rose and Michael Jackson, Mynor masterfully couples artistic experiences from his childhood abroad with the rich, fast-paced experience of an emerging young, Chicago-based musician. In addition to inspiration from various professional musicians and artists, Mynor’s music has been heavily influenced by the close relationship he has with his sister, Alexa. Much of his music is informed by the loyalty and care, which characterizes his bond with Alexa. Born in Guatemala and coming of age in America, Mynor began sowing the seeds of his music career at the age of three through the performance of skits and little songs for family. Mynor has dreamed of captivating audiences through music performance from the very start. By age 10, Mynor began his mastery of guitar. A year later, Mynor joined a teen rock band as a guitarist and vocal harmonizer. As the youngest member and only pre-teen, Mynor performed at venues all over Guatemala, turning his childhood desire into the beginnings of a career in professional music performance. Mynor began writing music for the band at age 14 and was promoted to lead singer. In 2010, Mynor moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue his music career. In high school, Mynor showed a talent for the performing arts by appearing in all types of talent shows and musicals such as the Tony Award winning musical called “In the Heights” to 1920s musical called “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” After many of his performances people would go up to him and say “you’re going places.” During high school, Mynor met and began collaborating with Randy Lawrence and Nikko Magpayo. Together, Mynor and Randy began writing original songs, including their hits, “Much More” and “This Distance.” Randy is featured rapping in the song “This Distance.” Randy often describes his music as poetry. There are seconds in his songs where everyone can connect to one lyric. His fans describes his voice as soft and soothing. Nikko, an extraordinary natural writer, came to songwriting later, but to Mynor’s great benefit—Nikko has produced some of Mynor’s most impressive lyrics. In 2014, Mynor organized a fundraiser for an orphanage in Guatemala. Here, Mynor connected with a music promoter and started performing at the House of Blues, Reggies, and the Bottom Lounge. In 2015 Chris Schneider, studio manager and producer, discovered Mynor during a performance at Reggies. This was night Chris decided to sign Mynor and his production team. That was the night Schneider decided to sign Mynor with his production team, Randy and Nikko. Throughout 2016, Mynor was focused on the creation of his EP. One of Mynor’s favorite songs on the EP is “Fits You Right.” “Fits You Right” is inspired on how women in his generation are so insecure on their looks. Mynor believes beauty should be seen in the inside of women. Producer, Chris Schneider, saw tremendous in this as a hit. Mynor is excited to see what his fans have to say. With the release of the band’s first EP on August 1, 2017, Mynor is looking forward to celebrating a breakout year!
