Marty Peifer w/Al Day, Steve Hashimoto, & Bob Long

For more than forty years Marty Peifer, Al Day, Bob Long and Steve Hashimoto have been playing music together. They have maintained a close friendship, liberally seasoned with a deep love of music - with just the right amount of silliness sprinkled in.Marty Peifer – A while back, Chicago Magazine named Marty Peifer “The Best All Around Entertainer in Chicago”. It's an indication of the incredible appeal of an artist who combines top contemporary material with the power and talent needed to give all audiences an amazingly special experience. He's billed as a genuine American troubador, a collector and interpreter of songs from a wide spectrum of styles and genres. He appeared in Suburbs of Heaven, a musical review written by Thom Bishop, and has shared stages with Bonnie Raitt, Tom Waits, Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, Tom Paxton, Leo Kotke, Steve Goodman, John Prine, Jimmy Buffet, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee and Bob Gibson – to name a few.Al Day – One of the finest singer-songwriters in Chicago, Al has appeared at just about every venue in town. Al is a superb guitarist, a fine lyricist with a well-honed sense of the absurd. An excellent entertainer in his own right, Al is loved and respected by all who listen to his growly voice and his beautiful lyrics.Bob Long – Perhaps best known for his membership in the ground-breaking ensemble Street Dancer, Bob is an incredible pianist who understands what fellows musicians need to make a song work. Bob is also an excellent songwriter, and has recorded several of his own CDs. Bob has performed at the Telluride Jazz Festival, as well as the JVC and Saratoga jazz Festivals in New York. He has also performed at the Tonda, Montreux and North Sea jazz Festivals in Europe.Steve Hashimoto – One of, if not the busiest base players in Chicago, Steve is a brilliant overall musician. He has been a mainstay of the Chicago jazz scene for many years. Steve is well known as a bassist, composer and band leader. His groups, Mothra and Suenos Latin Jazz have received critical acclaim.
