Madera Once
Madera Once is a four-piece band that pays tribute to Mexican-regional and traditional music with a contemporary spin. Based out of Chicago, Illinois, Madera Once's mission is to keep Mexican and Latin American music alive as it forges a new identity through the musician and audiences within the United States. Madera Once has had the privilege of playing throughout Chicago, most notably in September 2019 they opened for La Santa Cecilia at the Concord Theater. Madera Once has also graced many of the notable stages in Chicago such as the Green Mill, The Jay Pritzker Pavilion and Mole de Mayo in Chicago.Their debut EP: amado. was released in 2019. Madera Once is currently writing their follow-up EP that still needs to be named. Madera Once is primarily made up of Jose Alfredo Guerrero (vocals/guitar), Mario Hernandez (bass), Alex Tellez (drums/percussion), and Javier Martinez (accordion, requinto, guitar).
