Los Mirlos

Los Mirlos is a Peruvian group that has been continuing with rotating members for almost 45 years!  They create a curious combination of traditional Andean-Amazonian music and the most avant-garde psychedelia, which in the early '70s when they began, was an unthinkable sound for a band from the region of Moyobamba, in the eastern part of Peru. Throughout these more than four decades of history, Jorge Rodríguez Grández has commanded a group that has seen various losses and mutations. His music has managed to penetrate the culture of all of Latin America during the 80s, 90s and early 2000s.  The sound of Los Mirlos not only appeals by symbiosis between the tropical and the contemporary, it has also managed to transcend the barriers of the dance genre.
