Barry Sutton of The La’s

Barry Sutton is best known for being the lead guitarist in famed Liverpool band the La's during the band's rise to popularity in the late 1980s. You can spot him laying down that legendary guitar riff in the video for the band's best known song "There She Goes" (The La's self-titled LP—the only album the band ever released—was cited as a signpost for the 1990s Britpop wave that followed, and is constantly cited among the greatest albums of all time) In addition to his time in the La's, Barry also spent time in the ranks of famed Britpop acts Cast and Smaller. Now a Liverpool mainstay with his outfit Beatnik Hurricane, Barry can be found in various clubs throughout his hometown playing into the wee small hours of the morning. In his first visit to the United States in several years, Barry will be making an exclusive visit to Chicago for acoustic performance to showcase his original work, alongside La's classics and his one-of-a-kind covers. Don't miss your chance to see one of the great unsung heroes of British rock and roll right here in the Windy City.
