Badlands

 Badlands plays 1970s-era Springsteen with the passion and thunder the songs deserve. They will play two long sets approximating the Darkness on the Edge of Town tour that propelled Springsteen to legendary status forty years ago. The band has performed this set at City Winery, Evanston SPACE, Martyrs, the Old Town School of Folk Music, and other Chicago-area stages. John Mead leads a band including Alton Smith, Chris Corsale, Peter Manis, James Tomasello, and other friends. Band members have played with the Right Now, Anna Fermin’s Trigger Gospel, Conspiracy Theories, Rachel Drew and the Bitter Roots, Jay O’Rourke and Friends, the Groovepushers, and a bunch of other great Chicago bands. Most of these guys teach at the Old Town School of Folk Music and have played Martyrs doing original music as well as Al Green, Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Tori Amos, Heart, Tom Petty, and tons of other stuff.
