Soulful Americana band, Rachel Drew & the Bitter Roots, features Rachel's vocals with Alton Smith on piano, Gerald Dowd on drums, Dave Nelson on guitar, and John Abbey on bass. The band, and Rachel's songs, pay homage to mid-60s R&B, early-70s Ronstadt, Roy Orbison, and a bit of classic country. Whether inspired by dreams, family, or heartbreak, her songs have a haunted, aching quality. Rachel also performs with Tony Richards, Peter Joly Group, Phil Angotti, Great Moments in Vinyl, and more.

 Becky and Mike share a love for country music and the transformative power of live shows. These two Chicago natives fused their love of Roots Music, Jazz and Americana to create an indie americana sound featuring powerful vocal harmonies and unforgettable guitar riffs. They have shared the stage with Jim Lauderdale, Sam Bush, Robbie Fulks, Frank Fairfield and Jim Becker.

 A love of pure mountain-style harmonies is what brought Eugenia Elliott, Rob Newhouse and Hannah Hill together over a decade ago as the Chicago based American Roots band, Charming Axe. They sing songs they love--traditional, contemporary and original tunes--spanning bluegrass, pop, country, and folk, with lush romantic ballads and lively toe-tappers. Always with an emphasis on the Appalachian three part harmony stlye, and often accompanied by guitar, mandolin, fiddle and upright bass, Charming Axe is sure to delight. And they are darn nice folks.  Newhouse (Guitarist/Vocalist) has played in many bands, including Chicago roots-pop favorite the Elvis Brothers. He left the bar band scene in 1998 and began teaching at Chicago's famous Old Town School of Folk Music.  Since moving to Chicago in 1991 from the east coast, Eugenia Elliott has made her mark on the Chicago music scene in a wide variety of musical genres that include vocal jazz standards, bluegrass, old time country and popular contemporary music. You can hear her in local bands such as the Teflons, the Linda Marie Smith Band, the Melanie Budd band as well as on her own album of originals entitled 4000 Weeks. Hannah Hill has a deep and genuine love of vocal harmony. As the daughter of a church choir director she was inspired by her mother's singing and piano playing; inheriting her love of traditional and American folk music. In addition to contributing her clear and gentle soprano voice to Charming Axe, Hannah is a preschool music teacher and volunteer art teacher and is also a Certified Music Practitioner where she performs live, therapeutic music at bedside for the critically ill, elderly, and other patients during difficult times.
