A Tribute to Allan Holdsworth

Allan Holdsworth was widely considered the greatest guitarist of all time. On Sunday April 15th, on the one year anniversary of his death, some of Chicago’s premier guitarists will pay tribute to the fallen master. This very special evening is the brain child of Bassist Tim Seisser. “Allan Holdsworth is one of my biggest personal influences in music. I’ve always been a huge fan of not only his guitar playing but also his compositions and the sidemen that he hired”, says Seisser. “I wanted to pay tribute to his influence, but being a bassist, there is only so much I can do. I put the word out to some of my favorite local guitarists and was blown away at how willing they were to participate and pay homage.” Tim will be joined by Chicago guitar heavyweights Chris Siebold, Ernie Denov, Fareed Haque, Marco Villareal, as well as Jeremy Poparad from Akron and many other special guests. They will be performing Holdsworth classics from The Tony Williams Lifetime thru Allan’s groundbreaking original trio and quartet material.
