Big C Jamboree...

After 25 years, The Big C Jamboree, will be ending in May 2017.  A night of drinking, dancing, socializing, networking and non-stop music since 1992. For die hard rockabilly devotees and civilian music fans. Over the last decade, this highly organized vibrant jam session, held the first Thursday of every month at Martyrs', has become rockabilly central for many of the musicians & fans of Chicago's American roots scene. Although the monthly jam is devoted to rockabilly, the Big C Jamboree has also offered the span of '40's-'50's Amereicn roots music from Hillbilly Boogie to Western Swing, Jump Blues and 1st generation Rock-n-Roll. The night is run swiftly and simply: a host band performs a short set, followed by a myriad of roots musicians who do 3 songs each. The party like atmosphere includes socializing, drinking & dancing galore while the rotating line-up onstage usually features the raucous sounds of pompadoured rockabilly musicians wailing away on upright basses and hallow-bodied electric guitars; and there's NEVER a cover! It's one of the most dedicated evenings of music in the city.

Adam Lopez & the Rhythm Review

From Adam Lopez himself:  I am a professional guitarist currently based in Denver, CO. I specialize in all forms of American Roots music with an emphasis on "Telecaster style" guitar pickin'. I've traveled the U.S and Europe, worked with many great (including some legendary) musicians, and have been fortunate to have reached all corners of the world through music. I've played countless venues from honky tonk dives to famous theaters as both a sideman and band leader. I've opened for some legendary acts. I've done session work from Hollywood to Nashville. My roots are far and wide from the soulful sounds of Southern California's Rock/Rhythm&Blues/Bakersfield styles to the "Tulsa Sound" and beyond. Currently you may find me leading my own trio: Adam Lopez & His Rhythm Review or alongside the great Casey James Prestwood as part of his Burning Angels band. As 2014 rolls on there are many wonderful things in the works including an album with the Rhythm Review due out in August, tours with both the Rhythm Review and Burning Angels, and the completion and release of my first all instrumental album that includes Cris Kirkwood (Meat Puppets) and Brandon Holder (Leon Russell). I am blessed and grateful for this life! Adam - See more at: http://www.adamlopezmusic.com/bio/#sthash.Ox3dnYYj.dpuf
