Here in Tributosaurus’ 25th year, we felt it imperative to include an opportunity for us to do two shows in which we become Steely Dan.You rarely if ever get the chance to see this music, performed lovingly and with precision, in a live club setting. It’s absurd to attempt! Every time we’ve done Steely Dan, there is a special section for a certain subsection of fans with arms folded, waiting expectantly for us to make mistakes. WE WILL FOIL THEM AGAIN. We’ll recreate those vocal harmonies, keyboard orchestrations, guitar sounds, horn parts, drum and percussion fills live. We’ll assemble the band we need; the right tools for the right job.In prior years we’ve done two separate volumes of these amazing songs, more than 30 in total. We could probably do an unprecedented third volume; the catalog is that deep. Instead we’ll cull our favorites from that vast herd, ranging from Can’t Buy a Thrill through Gaucho, and also include a taste of Donald Fagen’s extraordinary solo album, The Nightfly.We consider Steely Dan the gold standard. Come bask in that music with us, on one or both of these two nights.
