Sacha Mullin

Chicago-based vocalist Sacha Mullin is equal parts banshee, crooner, and typographical error waiting to happen. At once commanding and vulnerable, he's been compared to Jeff Buckley and Morrissey – though Sacha more closely studied the phrasing of singers like Kate Bush, Lisa Fischer, and mentor Emily Bindiger. Sacha's cinematic style has given way to performances in underground jazz venues, conch shell orchestras, and Japanese jingles. He has sung with Bobby McFerrin, Patty Peterson, Cheer-Accident, Hannibal Lokumbe and Dessa, and his voice has been heard on MTV, CBS, NPR, and NHK. While continuing to explore collaborative works, Sacha performs as his own project. His 2013 solo effort WHELM was praised by The Deli, Examiner, and Chicago Music Guide, and a follow-up EP is expected at the end of this year, co-produced by Todd Rittmann (U.S. Maple; Dead Rider) and James Sanger (Dido; Keane).
