Rearden Roark

Chicago Indie Rock band, Rearden Roark, bring a fresh blend of atmospheric rock behind a tight, high-energy rhythmic backbone. Their standout sound and mystic lyrics are sparked by the skilled songwriting of Dan Berdelle. Varying from moments of personal tranquility to driving riffs propelled by melodic guitar leads, Rearden Roark’s music will bring you on a journey.  Rearden Roark banded together in early 2011 out of the great city of Chicago. The founding members consist of Dan Berdelle and Matt 'Wang' Christensen.  Dan Berdelle was previously in a band named Analog Device, where he co-wrote music and lyrics with founding member, David Parrish. Tragically, Dave passed away in late 2010, and subsequently, Analog Device dissolved as a band. During this time, Matt Christensen, who is a long-time friend of Dan Berdelle as well as a studied drummer, moved back to Chicago after many years living in Boston. Dan and Matt were both looking for a partner to create and record meaningful music with. Their deep interest and passion for music brought them together and a common creative vision was found; henceforth, Rearden Roark was spawned.  In the Spring of 2011, Rearden Roark went to work at 23:45 Studios to lay the beginnings of what would become their debut album, Ghost in the Science.  Reaching out to a circle of musicians and friends, Rearden Roark found a talented bassist and musician in Mike Alongi (who is a childhood friend of Matt Christensen), and an incredibly hard-working keyboardist in Jason Kearney. The sound envisioned for the album began to manifest itself in a smooth and seamless manner. With special appearances from Michaele Alongi, Frank Alongi, Erin Gipson, and Jessica Henry; Ghost in the Science came full circle.  For more than two years, Dan and Matt wrote, produced, recorded, and mixed Ghost in the Science. The album was released on September 17th, 2013.
