 Kings of the Lobby is a jazz-funk band based in Chicago founded by saxophonist Chris Madsen.

 The Sonic Poets feature Dave Grilly - sax and woodwinds, Michael Hershenson - guitars, Jeff Kier - piano, and Lanny Grilly - drums. Their last CD, "Goin' Places!", by Jeff Kier & The Grilly Brothers, on the BluJazz label, was Grammy Recognized in 2009.  The Sonic Poets perform pianist Jeff Kier's jazz compositions. Recently, Mark Stevens, a San Francisco DJ, commented that "Jeff was emerging as one of the great composers of our time."  The Sonic Poets current show combines Jeff's indelible melodies and the band’s unique fusion of solid grooves and seductive world-rhythms.  Much of Jeff Kier's music has been scored for both Symphony & Jazz Orchestras.  Dod Kalm Quartet plays and composes a complex hybrid of atmospheric jazz, progressive rock, free jazz, and bop. Dod Kalm Quartet formed in the winter of 2014 and has since been composing and performing original music in the Chicago area. The quartet draws from a vast selection of influences in attempt to culminate a sound that is inherently their own. Dod Kalm Quartet hosts a bi-weekly jam session every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at Nitecap Coffee Bar in Pilsen. Dod Kalm Quartet will be releasing their debut EP "You'll Shout, You'll Whisper" Sept. 21st at The Whistler.
